Learning Games & Activities for Ages 10–12
Ten to twelve is the stretch where maths becomes multi-step and problem solving becomes the point. Children in this band can hold a plan in their head, test it, and adjust when it does not work — so the Elonic World activities here reward thinking a move ahead rather than tapping the first thing they see.
Times tables, fractions and money maths are the practical backbone of this age group, and all three benefit from the kind of quick, repeated practice these games are built around. Alongside them, our coding challenge introduces sequences and loops, which is the clearest way to show that a computer only does exactly what it is told.
Sessions can run longer here — twenty-five to forty minutes is comfortable — but the games are still designed to be finished, not endlessly grinded. Every activity is free, browser-based, and completely free of adverts and in-app purchases.
What matters most at ages 10–12
Multiplication and fractions
Fluent times tables make fractions, ratio and division far less painful later. Short daily practice beats long weekend sessions every time.
Money and real-world maths
Counting change and comparing prices connects arithmetic to something a child can actually use, which is a strong motivator at this age.
Logical thinking
Puzzle grids, pattern spotting and coding sequences all build the same habit: break a problem into steps and check each one.
Independent reading
Longer texts and comprehension work matter more than decoding now, so our reading module leans towards understanding and analysis.
